The US **'s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has said it will renew its Cooperative Agreement with Verisign to oversee the .com domain registry and other responsibilities – while expressing some concern about price hikes.
The six-year contract allows ICANN to increase the price of .com domain names by 7% in the last four years of the contract renewal. This means prices should remain $10.26 in 2025 and 2026 before being eligible for 7% increases in the next four years.
